Principal's News

Dear Families,
Welcome to November at Rock Crusher Elementary! This month brings several exciting events for our students and families:
  • November 4: Our 5th grade students will showcase their science fair projects during the school day.
  • November 5 (5–6:30 PM): Families are invited to explore the experiments at our Title I Family Involvement STEM Night including The Science Guy!
  • November 6 (4:30 PM): Our School Advisory Council and PTO Meeting will be held—everyone is welcome to attend.
  • November 20: Our Annual Thanksgiving Feast will take place. Information has been sent home with students. We appreciate your support and patience as we welcome many families for this special event.
Please Note - There will be no school on November 10th and 11th due to Veteran's Day. Thanksgiving Break will be November 24th - 28th.
As we move through the school year, our students are beginning to show greater independence—following classroom routines and completing academic tasks with growing confidence. These life skills are essential and will serve them well into adulthood. Thank you for your continued support as we guide and coach your children each day.
With Thanksgiving approaching, we look forward to meaningful moments both at school and at home. Rock Crusher is truly blessed—with our students, staff, families, and community. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with your children and watch them grow into kind, capable future citizens.
Take time this Thanksgiving to reflect on your personal blessings and cherish what matters most—our children.
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Rock Crusher!
Warmly,
Amanda Haynes
Principal

Counselor's Corner

🧡 A Note from Your School Counselor
Happy November! This month is a time for gratitude, kindness, and reflection. As we head into the holiday season, we’re focusing on building empathy and thankfulness in our school community. I’m so proud of how our students are learning to support one another and practice positive behaviors every day!

🎄Now we enter a month of thankfulness and a little break to spend time with family and friends. With that in mind, the upcoming holidays may stir up a variety of emotions that are not always positive. If you need additional support during this season, please call for a list of community programs that may be useful to you and your situation.

🌻 This Month’s Counseling Theme: Gratitude & Kindness
November’s theme encourages students to notice and appreciate the good around them, big or small!

💬 Counselor Tip for Parents
Encourage your child to share something they’re thankful for each day!
Try a “Gratitude Jar” at home—every family member adds a note about something they’re grateful for. Read them together at the end of the month.

🦃 November Character Traits: Citizenship & Honesty
We’re celebrating students who exemplify Good Citizenship and are truthful in all situations.

💛 Quote of the Month
“Gratitude turns what we have into enough.” — Aesop

Kindly,
Tabetha Harrison, RCE Counselor
