Teacher of the Year

RCE's Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Jacqi Beagan
Updated School Calendar

I have lived in Citrus County for 15 years.  My husband of 42 years has over 60 relatives living in the county. I have a son, Brian who resides in Louisiana and a step-daughter who lives with her husband in Rockledge, FL. I am a voracious reader, a water colorist, and a life long learner. I am also quickly becoming entrenched in the blogging community.

I officially became a Gopher nine years ago when I was hired as a para professional for Title 1. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree on my 63rd birthday and was hired the following August as a 4th grade ESE teacher.  I have been an inclusion teacher for 5 years and I love not only the diversity of my classrooms, I also enjoy working with a co-teacher. I believe that having a partner in the classroom stretches you and makes you a better educator.

Being a Gopher is a wonderful thing! Our school is a tight knit community and I know I always have support whether it is concerning my classroom, or my personal life.  Every person you talk to that has spent anytime at the Rock talks about how special it is. There is such a strong sense of family and love on our campus that you can’t walk away unchanged.  This is especially important for our students as many of them only experience this family feeling during school hours. Being a Gopher is a happy thing!
