Barbara Bogart

Barbie Bogart is beginning her first year as Principal of Rock Crusher Elementary for the 2026–2027 school year, bringing 26 years of experience in Citrus County Schools. She attended Inverness Primary, Inverness Middle School, and graduated from Citrus High School. Barbie earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Saint Leo University and her master's degree in educational leadership from the American College of Education.

Barbie began her teaching career at Rock Crusher Elementary, spent 15 years teaching at Pleasant Grove Elementary, and served as a Teacher on Special Assignment in District Student Services supporting elementary schools throughout the district. She returned to Rock Crusher, where she served as Assistant Principal for three and a half years before becoming Principal. Throughout her career, she has mentored new teachers, served on numerous committees, and represented Pleasant Grove Elementary as Teacher of the Year. A fun fact about Barbie: she still holds a softball record at Citrus High School for an unassisted triple play against county rival Lecanto High School! Ask her, and she will share the story!

As a lifelong member of the Citrus County community, Barbie is excited to lead Rock Crusher Elementary, build on its strong traditions, and work alongside students, staff, and families to ensure every Golden Gopher has the opportunity to succeed. There’s No Place Like Rock Crusher!
