Dear Rock Crusher Elementary Families,

What a wonderful start to the 2026-27 school year! We are thrilled to welcome our Gophers back and are so excited about the energy, enthusiasm, and joy they bring to school each day. Thank you for helping make this a fantastic beginning to the year!

Our students are already hard at work completing their first Progress Monitoring (PM) assessments. These assessments provide our teachers with valuable baseline data to help us understand each student’s strengths and areas for growth. Throughout the year, we will use this information to guide instruction and celebrate student progress. We can’t wait to watch our Gophers grow!

This year, our school improvement goals focus on integrating nonfiction science into ELA, using STEM Lab rotations to strengthen science and ELA skills, and implementing structured spiral reviews to increase math learning gains. We are excited about the learning opportunities ahead!

💧 Water Bottles: Clear water bottles are preferred and encouraged. Students may also bring water bottles with secure, closed lids that do not drip or leak.

🥐 Food & Drinks: Please have special morning drinks, breakfast treats, and outside food and beverages remain at home or in the car. Students should not bring outside food or drinks into hallways or classrooms.

🍎 School Breakfast & Lunch: All students receive free breakfast and lunch. If your child would like to eat breakfast at school and you are dropping them off, please arrive by 9:10 a.m. to allow enough time to visit the café and enjoy breakfast.

Family partnership is an important part of student success, and we look forward to seeing you at school events and meetings throughout the year. Your involvement truly makes a difference!

RCE is proud that all our teachers and administrators working with our students are certified by the State of Florida or other governing board. We appreciate our teachers for teaching outside their primary certification area, when needed. When this happens, those individuals are currently taking classes or exams to obtain additional certifications.

All RCE teachers providing intervention (Tier 3) are Reading Endorsed or Certified.

Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) in a child’s education is a greater predictor of academic success than whether or not that family is affluent or poor. That’s why Title I, Part A program regulations insist on robust parent and family engagement activities at every school where federal funds support effective teaching and engaged learning. Currently Title I, Part A defines parent involvement as the participation of parents in regular, two-way and meaningful communications with school staff that involves the student, addresses learning and engages the family in school activities.
